Adults looking to return to education can feel confident in taking the next steps thanks to an upcoming virtual seminar offered by ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē.

On March 31, mature students in the North Okanagan and Shuswap looking to make a career change or jump back into school can discover programs, funding options and the support network available to assist their transition.

The Returning to Education Seminar supports adults in deciding whether retraining or upgrading their education is right for them.

ā€œReturning to class may seem like big step for people who have been out of the classroom for a while. After overcoming that initial hesitancy, our students often find they are more successful in school than they ever imagined,ā€ says Natasha Befus, Adult Upgrading Department Chair. ā€œAdult Upgrading instructors take extra steps to support adult learners. A lot of our students go on to complete credentials at ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē which takes their lives on a whole new path.ā€

In the one-hour interactive session, participants will be provided information on ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē program opportunities, including university transfer options, Trades and Apprenticeships, Continuing Studies and Adult Upgrading.

There will also be the opportunity to meet ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē team members who are devoted to helping students succeed with services like course planning and Indigenous cultural supports.

Representatives from WorkBC and ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē Student, Graduate and Co-op Employment will discuss employment opportunities and services that help College graduates re-enter the workforce. At the end of the session, participants will receive contact information for their local WorkBC Centre.

The seminar is taking place as part of a broader suite of information sessions called Experience ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē. The series of online workshops is designed to give students a chance to experience what it is like to be an ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē student for a day. A variety of sessions are running weekly until the end of May. Future students can participate in lectures and interactive presentations, meet instructors and ask program and career-related questions.

The Returning to Education Seminar takes place on Wednesday, March 31 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. To register or for information, visit .
