Vision

The Learning and Applied Research Unit will be the ā€œgo toā€ support service for ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē employees who want to continuously improve their skills and knowledge about teaching, learning, programming, and applied research.

Learning outcomes for faculty and instructors

  • Redesign a course with learning outcomes aligned with assessment/evaluation methods and teaching and learning strategies;
  • Use a variety of assessment practices in courses;
  • Analyze data gathered from program mapping and alignment activities to make program redesign decisions;
  • Design and implement blended learning strategies; and
  • Develop an expanded curiosity about learning and teaching.

Ben Halsall has been serving as an Educational Technology Coordinator at ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē since July 2022. With a rich background in education and software training, Ben brings extensive experience in teaching digital media and creative technologies at post-secondary and higher education institutions across the UK and Canada. As an expert in leading software applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Final Cut Pro, he excels in empowering educators to enhance their online course delivery. At ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē, Ben plays a pivotal role in supporting faculty to integrate innovative technologies into their teaching, ensuring an engaging and effective learning experience for all students.

Linda joined ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē as a Teaching and Learning Advisor in October 2023.  With 17 years of post-secondary teaching and learning experiences involving action research and curriculum writing projects, she brings creativity, innovation and a touch of humor and fun to her work.  Lindaā€™s areas of expertise encompass Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, with an emphasis on experiential learning, as well as, Early Childhood Education and Development, the Reggio Approach and Outdoor Pedagogical and Andragogical Approaches.
